Gone Are the Days Of Not Having To Pay Attention

My days of calmly blogging while my boys sat & played side-by side in one place have vanished. Gone are the days of not having to pay attention!

The boys used to fill their days with:
* sitting, looking at what everyone else is doing & each other
* playing in one spot with baby toys (remember the "basket" game)
* gazing at my face
* being held
* laying still and cooing while getting their diapers changed
* playing with their toes as they laid on their back
* being completely fascinated with ceiling fans or lights

Completely bored with above list, things that now fill Benjamin & Joseph's day:
* stealing any toy their brother has
* outlets, especially the unsafe ones
* grabbing my mouth, sticking fingers up my nose, pulling off my sunglasses, grabbing fistfuls of hair
* trying to shake down the baby gates
* pulling ALL of the toilet paper off the roll-again
* starting the dishwasher on an hourly basis
* emptying any drawers or cupboards that aren't locked
* turning diaper changes into a wrestling match
* attempting to climb anything you need to (including your brother) to reach a desired (& often forbidden) object
* banging everything. Can you say LOUD?!?!
* pulling over artificial plants & trying to eat them
* make that trying to eat everything

Yes! Life is getting interesting.

Fasten your seatbelt. It only gets louder and crazier from here. Count on chaos for the next two years at least. I have realized that living room WWF is a way of life. Pounding, crashing, dumping and bashing things is also a necessity. Eventually, they will be playmates and entertain one another without your complete supervision. But for now they are a duo of destruction.
