Imaginary Friends?

How old do you have to be to have imaginary friends? Doug and I are convinced that Benjamin has some! He will often be playing and then just look off into space (actually it is usually a light source) and smile in glee. We keep asking him what his imaginary friends are doing that is so funny, but so far he hasn't told us!
